MedX Treatment / home ...

After the initial isometric (static) strength and range of motion test has been done, the clinician is able to determine whether or not the patient requires treatment using the MedX equipment.

A treatment program comprising between one and three phases is then done on the same equipment. Each of the three phases comprises a maximum of six dynamic strengthening exercise sessions and culminates with a test to determine what progress the patient made during that phase and whether further treatment is necessary.

The objective of the dynamic exercises is to strengthen the weak spinal muscles that brought about the pain and in doing so improve the range of motion. Relief of the chronic pain condition normally coincides with an increase in the isometric (static) strength and range of motion.

Maintenance Program

Once the MedX treatment program is completed, it is necessary that the patient undergoes a once a month maintenance treatment session for twenty four months. Clinical studies have shown that the patients condition continues to improve during this period of time.
