| The Golf Fitness Program? |
/ home ... |
The program starts and ends with an assessment where measurements are taken.
The last measurement will reflect the overall improvement in the golfer's static strength and flexibility.
The spinal muscles are strengthened by isolating them before they are exercised. This is done with
the patented MedX Lumbar Extension and Rotary Torso Machines which are unique to
MedX facilities. The strengthening of these muscles reduces the risk of their injury during a golf
swing, and also brings about relief from pain in them should it exist.
A six step flexibility program that addresses six major musculoskeletal joints and surrounding
connective tissue along with seven major muscle groups is undertaken with the MedX Stretch
Machine that also accurately measures the improvement in the flexibility of the golfer. The golfer is also
taught specific stretches that will loosen the spinal muscles before he embarks on a game of
golf.
For golfers with chronic back maladies, the back exercise classes run by the Biokineticist is
also recommended.
Who runs the Golf Fitness Program?
The program is run by a Biokineticist.
Tools used in the Golf Fitness Program
The golf fitness program is undertaken with MedX equipment that is unique and specifically
designed to strengthen the spinal muscles that are particular to the golf swing, and to stretch those
muscles to make them supple and mobile and to increase the golfer's range of motion.
